Fukuoka rolls out new perks for incentive groups

The Fukuoka Convention & Visitors Bureau has unveiled new services for inbound incentive groups that stay in the city at least one night during this fiscal year (April 2025 to March 2026).

The level of support depends on the number of international visitors and the number of overnight stays. With a combined 200 nights, groups will be able to receive a welcome ceremony by ninjas at Fukuoka Airport.

Meanwhile, a combined 400 nights generates a choice of traditional performances and experiences. For instance, groups will also have the option to participate in a dance, taiko drumming or a kagami-biraki (sake barrel breaking) ceremony.

For a separate venue rental charge, a Japanese tea service (for up to 100 pax), or Hakata doll painting (for up to 60 pax) are also available.

In addition, unique welcome gifts and souvenirs include eco-tote bags, cookies featuring the group’s name or a customised message, coasters made of kimono silk and travel pass cases made from Hakata-ori silk. Both the coasters and cases are sustainably made from recycled kimono and fabric remnants.

Interested parties must apply at least one month before their arrival to qualify for these services.
