LEAP East will return to Hong Kong for the next three years after the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) signed an agreement with organiser Tahaluf to make the city the event’s exclusive Asian host from 2027 to 2029.

The technology event made its Asian debut in Hong Kong from July 8 to 10, attracting more than 25,000 participants, of whom 55 per cent were international attendees.

LEAP East is the first international expansion of Saudi Arabia’s flagship LEAP technology conference. HKTB said hosting the event over the next three years reinforces Hong Kong’s position as a regional meetings and technology hub.

HKTB chairman Peter Lam said: “LEAP East has chosen Hong Kong for its first-ever edition in Asia this year, and we are delighted to establish a strategic partnership with the organiser to secure Hong Kong as the exclusive Asian host city of LEAP East for the coming three years.”

Mike Champion, CEO of Tahaluf, said: “Hong Kong’s unique position as a melting pot of Chinese and international cultures, together with its status as a world-class MICE and tourism destination, makes it a vital bridge connecting the China, the Asia-Pacific region and global markets.”

HKTB said more than 100 international MICE events were held in Hong Kong during 1H2026. Following the recently-held 108th Lions International Convention, the city is also preparing to host events including the World Cancer Congress, World Congress of Food Science and Technology, World Congress of the International Federation of Landscape Architects 2026, The Festival of Connoisseurs, and Lions Clubs International OSEAL Forum.
