Expo Centric and Event Mill have partnered to set up Expo Centric WA, aimed at expanding large-scale design, manufacturing and production capacity in Western Australia.
Operating from a 2,200m2 facility in Jandakot, the joint venture combines Expo Centric’s experience in high-end display environments with Event Mill’s local market presence and production operations.

Many large exhibition structures for Western Australian events are currently built on Australia’s east coast before transport to Perth. Delivering a large custom stand in Perth can cost an exhibitor approximately A$50,000 (US$33,500) more than at a comparable Sydney event, driven by freight and logistics. By designing, manufacturing and storing assets locally, the company aims to eliminate interstate shipping costs, shorten lead times and provide greater pricing control.
The Jandakot site supports projects from initial concept through to manufacturing, pre-build and installation. Capabilities include custom joinery, wide-format printing, audiovisual solutions and project storage, alongside more than 2,000 Aluvision frames for modular construction.
The operation will serve individual exhibitors, local and national brands, retailers, agencies and organisers, while generating employment across design, project management, manufacturing, logistics and installation.
Stan Kruss, CEO of Expo Centric, noted that freight costs from the east coast have climbed steadily since 2008, adding that funds spent on transport should instead go towards audience experiences. He emphasised that establishing actual production infrastructure rather than just a sales presence was fundamental to changing market capability.
Event Mill directors Jesse Wilson and Nick Spencer stated that combining Expo Centric’s specialist design knowledge with Event Mill’s local operational base allows projects to be designed, pre-built and delivered locally, providing clients with greater flexibility while supporting local suppliers.
Kruss stated: “We are investing in local manufacturing, local employment and local capability because we believe WA has the potential to become one of Australia’s most exciting markets for exhibitions, events and brand activations.”
