The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and its World Chambers Federation (WCF) have opened calls for chambers of commerce worldwide to host their flagship international and regional gatherings for the 2028-2029 cycle.
For the first time, the ICC and WCF are aligning the bidding processes for both the World Chambers Congress and WCF Regional Summits into a single connected portfolio cycle.
Participating chambers have until October 14, 2026, to submit an initial Expression of Interest. Under this cycle, the organisation will select four host chambers in total: three to hold WCF Regional Summits across 2028 and 2029, and one to host the flagship World Chambers Congress in 2029.
The World Chambers Congress serves as the premier global forum for chamber leaders to align on international trade priorities and strategy. Meanwhile, the WCF Regional Summits function as distinct regional platforms designed to address localised economic opportunities and mobilise regional business communities.
Chambers interested in bidding are not required to submit a full business plan or venue confirmation at this stage. The preliminary EOI phase is intended to assess initial readiness, clarify strategic motivation, and initiate formal discussions with the ICC WCF team ahead of the October 14 deadline.
