Oakwood Premier Raffles Place Singapore brings serviced apartment-style accommodation to the heart of the city's financial district, offering business and leisure travellers a base within walking distance of the CBD and key attractions
Rooms
Located on Level 9 of CapitaSpring in Singapore’s Raffles Place CBD, Oakwood Premier Raffles Place Singapore has 299 rooms and suites across seven levels. Accommodation ranges from Deluxe and Premier Rooms to spacious suites, as well as Loft and Executive Loft options designed for extended stays.
For added security, key cards only grant access to the guest’s room floor, the lobby level and the Green Oasis, CapitaSpring’s landscaped sky garden overlooking the CBD.
Level 10 is the dedicated Club Floor, where guests enjoy access to a private lounge serving evening canapés, wine, soft drinks, tea and coffee. Rooms on this floor also come with upgraded amenities, regardless of room category. Club Lounge access is exclusive to guests staying on Level 10.
I stayed in a Premier Room, one of the property’s most popular categories for short business trips. The room was welcoming and made for a comfortable retreat after a long day of meetings, with a dedicated workspace and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city. The spacious bathroom features a walk-in shower, Appelles toiletries and a handheld bidet.
In line with the property’s sustainability approach, bottled water is not provided. Instead, Premier Rooms and above come with a kitchenette equipped with cooking essentials, a Nespresso machine and a filtered water dispenser. Additional filtered water stations beside the lifts on every floor make it easy for guests to refill their bottles.
I also appreciated the practical touches, such as the sliding wardrobe, which houses the bathrobes, in-room safe, iron and ironing board, and a laundry basket. They are small details, but ones that make the room feel well equipped whether you are staying for one night or one week.
MICE facilities
While the hotel does not have dedicated business events facilities, I found its location more than made up for it. It is a practical base for delegates attending events elsewhere, with Raffles Place MRT station just a three-minute walk away. From there, both Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre and Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre are about 18 minutes away by MRT.
Alternatively, the 25-minute walk takes you past some of Singapore’s best-known landmarks, including the Merlion, Helix Bridge and Jubilee Bridge.
Other facilities
One of the first things I noticed was the lobby, which feels more like a shared living room than a formal hotel reception. It is an inviting space to settle in with a coffee, catch up on emails or wait for a meeting.
On the same floor, The Oak Room serves a simple but filling buffet breakfast each morning. During the day, it doubles as a grab-and-go outlet offering sandwiches, pies, and a selection of drinks for guests on the move.
Other facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, running track, garden barbecue area, self-service launderette, and a 24-hour concierge.
Service
The service matched the welcoming feel of the hotel. Everyone I encountered greeted me with a smile and was quick to offer assistance, while housekeeping responded promptly whenever I had a request.
Verdict
I had a pleasant stay at Oakwood Premier Raffles Place Singapore. Even as a Singaporean, I enjoyed wandering around the area and seeing familiar landmarks from a different perspective.
One thing to note is that while the CBD is lively on weekdays with plenty of dining options, it becomes much quieter at weekends, with many cafés, restaurants and shops closed. For travellers staying over the weekend, it is worth hopping on the MRT to explore other parts of the city.
