Brisbane will host the International Federation of Fertility Societies (IFFS) World Congress from April 18 to 21, 2027, bringing almost 3,000 delegates to the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC).
The congress will bring together clinicians, researchers and policymakers to discuss advances in fertility care under the theme Global Access and Advances in Fertility Care. Topics will include AI in embryo selection, emerging technologies, access to fertility treatment and international collaboration to improve care.

The successful bid was led by the Fertility Society of Australia and New Zealand in partnership with the IFFS, with support from BCEC, Tourism and Events Queensland, Brisbane Economic Development Agency and Tourism Australia.
The event is expected to generate A$10.8 million (US$7 million) in economic impact for Queensland.
Petra Wale, president of the Fertility Society of Australia and New Zealand, said: “Australia has a long history of leadership in fertility care and of openly sharing knowledge with the world.
“By bringing the global community together in Brisbane, we have an opportunity to learn from each other, break down barriers and ultimately bring more joy to more people hoping to build a family.”
