Malaysia’s first voco hotel by IHG Hotels & Resorts, voco Kuching, is expanding possibilities for event planners in Sarawak with new venues, modern amenities and flexible meeting spaces.
The hotel, which opened in June, features over 2,400m² of meeting and event space – anchored by the 1,434m² Rainforest Ballroom – alongside 321 guestrooms and suites. The ballroom can accommodate up to 1,350 guests and is supported by flexible function rooms for breakout sessions, smaller gatherings and supporting programmes.
Designed for modern business needs, the event spaces feature high-speed Wi-Fi, integrated audiovisual systems, adjustable lighting and versatile seating configurations, all backed by a dedicated on-site events team.
General manager Magdalina Chung said: “Every event comes with different priorities, and flexibility was important to us from the beginning. Whether it is a focused corporate meeting, a gala dinner or a large-scale conference, we want organisers to have the space, support and flexibility to shape the event around what they need.”
Since opening, voco Kuching has hosted several major corporate, association and international gatherings, including an event that welcomed more than 1,200 delegates from six countries.
Building on this momentum, the hotel will serve as the official venue for the 23rd Diabetes Asia Conference 2026 from October 15 to 17 , welcoming hundreds of healthcare professionals, researchers and specialists from across Asia and beyond.
Guests and delegates can also enjoy the hotel’s broader lifestyle facilities, including all-day dining restaurant Luma, AMPM café and bar, an outdoor swimming pool and a 24-hour fitness centre.
