Renaissance Pattaya to open next month with slew of confirmed meetings

Several local and international business events have been confirmed at Thailand’s Renaissance Pattaya Resort & Spa, which is gearing up for an opening on September 1.

The 257-key resort will launch with around 150 rooms, and all guest and meeting facilities on September 1. The rest of the rooms – mostly villas – will be ready by October.

Kukreja: resort’s numerous meeting facilities will appeal to meeting planners

Speaking to TTGmice on Tuesday evening prior to the welcome dinner for Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau’s International Media Familiarisation Trip 2017, hotel general manager Saurabh Kukreja said: “There has been a lot of excitement surrounding Renaissance Pattaya Resort & Spa because while Pattaya has many hotels, there are only few resorts. We are a young, modern and refreshing resort, and the Renaissance brand is known to be contemporary and creative, adding to the appeal.”

Kukreja believes that the resort’s concentration of meeting facilities in a section of the hotel’s main building, and across levels two and three is a star draw for event planners.

“Our 540m2 ballroom is on level two, the same floor as our lobby, which means easy access for arriving event attendees. At the same time, events get the privacy they need because our meeting facilities are on the left side of the building. The pre-function area for our ballroom on level two is connected by stairs to breakout rooms on level three, so event planners have a choice to utilise a large and isolated space for their meetings,” he explained.

Besides the function rooms, the hotel also offers event planners a party lawn that can accommodate a 200-pax standing cocktail reception, and access to a serene stretch of beach that is good for 100 guests.

Other guest facilities include a 150-seat all-day dining restaurant that overlooks the swimming pool and sea, and a kids water play area.
