Singapore’s National Stadium at The Kallang has commissioned a permanent, venue-wide d&b audiotechnik sound system designed to streamline logistics and lower production costs for both major international concert promoters and large-scale business events.
Announced by venue operator The Kallang Group, the turnkey installation addresses longstanding operational hurdles associated with hosting mega-events in the 55,000-capacity venue. By offering a high-spec, built-in audio solution, the stadium eliminates the need for organisers – ranging from global touring acts to corporate convention planners – to freight in expensive custom sound rigs or extensive third-party AV setups.

Beyond cutting external speaker rental costs, the system accelerates bump-in and bump-out timelines to free up valuable schedule windows, making tight event turnarounds more feasible for corporate keynotes and multi-day summits. Custom-engineered specifically for the stadium’s iconic free-spanning dome, the installation delivers high speech intelligibility and acoustic precision across all seating tiers while minimising internal echo and sound spillover.
The system underwent its initial operational deployment during Singapore’s National Day Parade, handling complex live audio cues alongside large-scale indoor pyrotechnic displays.
Yazed Osman, group head of events & placemaking at The Kallang Group, noted that the upgrade helps keep Singapore competitive in the regional experience economy by removing logistical friction for international event managers across the music, sports, and corporate sectors.
The sound upgrade complements the venue’s existing infrastructure, including pillarless 360-degree sightlines, halal-certified catering capabilities nearby, and an energy-efficient seat-level cooling system.
