The Auckland Transport, and Auckland Convention Bureau, have launched the Hui Pass, a new public transport pass for business events delegates designed to lower transit emissions and ease city congestion.
Launched at the MEETINGS 2026 tradeshow, the five-day pass costs NZ$20 (US$11.70) per delegate and is available for bulk purchase by event organisers. It provides unlimited travel on Auckland’s bus and train networks.

The initiative follows an industry survey and trial revealing that 70 per cent of international delegates prefer using public transport, with the pilot programme resulting in an 83 per cent pass utilisation rate and an average of 9.1 trips per card.
The rollout aligns with Auckland’s long-term tourism infrastructure growth, including the opening of the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) and the upcoming City Rail Link. Auckland currently projects an annual intake of 300,000 business delegates, with international attendees spending an average of NZ$2,000 per visit.
If delegates extend their stay beyond five days, the pass can be topped up and used as a standard AT HOP card, which also grants access to regional ferry services.
