BCD Travel has been selected as the global travel partner for GE Vernova Inc. following a strategic review of the energy company’s travel operations.
The decision consolidates corporate and rotational crew workforce travel across 106 countries under a single global model, marking a significant operational shift after more than 30 years with the company’s previous provider. This partnership replaces previously fragmented operations handled by multiple travel management providers with an integrated solution powered by BCD technology.

The transition comes during a period of rapid growth for GE Vernova, which has seen increased market demand in energy, electrification, and infrastructure alongside recent global acquisitions that have expanded its traveller base. Implementation of the global programme is currently underway, with official go-live targeted for early September 2026.
“Selecting BCD was a strategic decision aligned with our transformation and growth ambitions,” said Bernadette Basterfield, executive global sourcing – travel/meetings & fleet at GE Vernova. “We were looking for more than a provider. With BCD, we found a partner that can modernise our global travel programme, consolidate complexity, and support our future at scale.”
A primary factor in the selection process was BCD’s ability to simplify bookings, improve traveller engagement, and strengthen compliance through its proprietary TripSource platform.
To manage its complex rotational workforce and crew travel, GE Vernova will utilise BCD’s TripPlanner technology and Energy, Resources, and Marine division. This system provides access to specialist travel agents, round-the-clock connected servicing, and dedicated industry fares designed to streamline crew movements and lower expenses.
Stephan Baars, CEO at BCD, credited the successful partnership to strong internal alignment and close collaboration among GE Vernova’s procurement, travel leadership, and operational teams. He emphasised that this unified internal support created the foundation for a scalable travel programme capable of adapting to GE Vernova’s expanding workforce and global footprint.
