American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) has introduced a series of AI-powered enhancements across its travel management platform, including an Egencia AI connector for Anthropic’s Claude assistant, new travel management tools and expanded traveller services.
The Egencia AI connector enables travellers and enterprise AI agents to search, book and manage policy-compliant air and hotel travel within Claude. It is the first deployment of Amex GBT’s proprietary agent-to-agent (A2A) architecture, which integrates travel management services into AI environments. The connector will be available to Egencia customers in 3Q2026.

Amex GBT is also extending conversational AI to Google Chat for Egencia customers and piloting a travel assistant for Neo users in Microsoft Teams.
The latest platform updates include an AI-powered Travel Manager Dashboard for Egencia customers, which provides real-time programme performance data, AI-generated summaries, alerts and reporting tools.
For Complete by SAP Concur and Amex GBT users, new features include spend leakage reporting, disruption management through the mobile app, and integrated supplier offers, negotiated rates and loyalty benefits during booking.
The company is also expanding its Guest Travel & Expense platform, adding automated travel policy controls, simplified guest bookings and a real-time dashboard for managing non-employee travel. The platform is currently available in the US and UK, with Australia scheduled to follow in 4Q2026 and Singapore, Belgium, France and Germany in later phases.
Separately, research commissioned by Amex GBT and conducted by Forrester found that while 90 per cent of enterprise IT decision-makers were satisfied with their organisations’ travel technology, only three per cent said their travel systems were fully integrated into enterprise workflows.
“The business travel value conversation is shifting from ‘how much did we spend’ to ‘what did that travel enable’,” said Drew Crawley, president of Amex GBT. “We are investing in the technology, insights and expertise to support that shift so our customers and travellers can answer that question with confidence.”
