Padma Resorts in Bali – comprising its Legian and Ubud properties – is expanding its business events segment to target regional and longhaul international markets.
While leisure remains its primary market, management sees strong potential to leverage the resorts’ meeting and event infrastructure.

Nita Rizky, cluster director of sales for Padma Resort Legian and Padma Resort Ubud, said: “Leisure has been our core strength due to the appeal of Legian and Ubud, but given the venue options across both properties, it would be a missed opportunity not to maximise them.”
Both properties offer versatile event capabilities. The 437-room Padma Resort Legian features the 569m² Plumeria Grand Ballroom – with 7.5-metre ceilings and capacity for 500 guests – alongside seven breakout rooms and an outdoor venue for welcome dinners of over 100 people. Meanwhile, the 149-room Padma Resort Ubud caters to intimate gatherings with an indoor ballroom for up to 120 guests and two breakout rooms.
The Ubud property also features versatile outdoor spaces for larger events, including the Wedding Lawn (up to 800 guests), Pool Lawn (up to 200 guests), and the Bamboo Nest pavilion for wellness activities.
Nita added: “In Ubud, it’s all about the views and vibes; it has great potential for full property buyouts. We also offer teambuilding through agroforestry, an animal garden for family incentives, and rich options for wellness or yoga groups.”
Business events currently account for a single-digit percentage of Padma Resorts’ total revenue. It is mainly driven by government functions, but Nita aims to push this to eight to 10 per cent across both resorts next year.
“Our strategy is to expand further into regional markets like Singapore, as well as longhaul incentive markets such as the UK and US, rather than relying solely on repeat Indonesian clients.
“Australia is already a huge leisure market for us, so we are also targeting its MICE business,” she shared.
To drive growth, Padma Resorts is launching special package rates, expanding aggressive digital marketing campaigns, and showcasing its portfolio at major tradeshows such as IBTM, ITB Asia, and AIME.
