The inaugural Indonesia Business Event Mart (IBEM) and the co-located Southeast Asia Business Events Forum (SEABEF) attracted more than 1,000 delegates from Indonesia and across the Asia-Pacific region during their debut from July 28 to 31.

The events brought together government representatives, business events professionals, suppliers and buyers for conferences, business appointments, networking sessions and exhibitions.

IBEM featured more than 100 exhibitors from Indonesia and the Asia-Pacific, including destinations, convention bureaux, hotels, convention and exhibition centres, destination management companies, cruise operators, event technology providers and other business events suppliers. Hosted buyers took part in pre-arranged business appointments while exploring new products and services.

The opening ceremony was attended by Indonesia’s coordinating minister for economic affairs, Airlangga Hartarto; minister of tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana; and vice coordinator of the governor’s special staff, Yustinus Prastowo.

The programme also included networking activities, cultural performances and exhibitor activations. The event concluded with a hosted buyer lucky draw sponsored by exhibitors and partners.

The co-location of IBEM and SEABEF combined a regional conference with a business events marketplace, providing a platform for industry networking and business development across South-east Asia.
