Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo, has upgraded its event venues with high-end audiovisual technology to meet rising demand for immersive corporate and social gatherings.
The luxury hotel partnered with AV systems integrator Vega Japan and VPS Services Group to complete the installation.

The highlight of the renovation is in the 500-capacity Grand Ballroom, which now features a 360-degree projection system, immersive surround sound, and custom high-definition content capabilities. To protect the architecture of the adjacent Mitsui Honkan – a designated Important Cultural Property of Japan – the hotel deployed specialised portable AV setups that deliver high-impact visuals without altering the historic structure.
Across all meeting spaces, upgrades include high-speed wired and wireless internet, teleconferencing capabilities, and customisable LED mood lighting.
“As client expectations evolve, we recognise the growing demand for more immersive events,” Risa Kinoshita, marketing and communications manager at Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo, told TTGmice. She added that the 360-degree projection mapping enables organisers to deliver “highly personalised and memorable events”.
