Pattaya is developing a digital twin, named Pattaya Twin City, as part of its drive to become a fully-integrated Smart City.
The platform will give event planners remote access to its venues and live city conditions, with a first version set to premiere at ITB Asia 2026 in Singapore this October.
Chutima Jeeramongkol, president of the Pattaya-Chonburi Business and Tourism Association and member of the Strategic Working Group for the Development of Pattaya City, shared details of the launch at TIME (Thailand Innovative Time Meetings Exchange) 2026.
Developed with Thailand’s Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency using satellite mapping, the platform lets buyers navigate a virtual model of the city and pull venue and utility information directly from on-screen toolbars.
“The platform will provide easy access for buyers around the world,” Chutima told TTGmice, noting that the initial release will carry comprehensive city data.
The digital twin will also connect to Pattaya’s network of over 3,000 closed-circuit cameras, allowing buyers to check live environmental and traffic conditions in real time before committing to a programme. While the public can already view roughly 800 of these feeds through the Pattaya Connect LINE account, access to Pattaya Twin City will be restricted exclusively to event planners during the launch.
The first phase will map the broader city landscape, while a second phase will add 3D interior views of individual venues as data collection expands. Registered businesses will be integrated into the system, such as the Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Centre which can accommodate up to 10,000 delegates, alongside adjacent properties under the Royal Cliff Hotels Group.
Pattaya, one of Thailand’s first officially designated MICE cities chosen by Thailand Convention and Exhibition Burea, has historically relied on tradeshows with limited seller slots to reach international clients.
“When we go to roadshows, there is a limited number of seats sellers can apply for,” Chutima concluded. “But with this digital twin, the whole city can go with us.”
