Global business events and destination management consultancy jwc has signed an agreement with the Government of Maharashtra’s Ministry of Tourism to support the foundation and administration of the newly-established Maharashtra Convention Bureau (MCB).
The MCB was created to attract international conventions, exhibitions, and business events to Mumbai and other key cities across the state. Under the new partnership, jwc will provide strategic advisory services, international market expertise, and access to its global industry network to boost the bureau’s growth and event attraction efforts.

“Maharashtra has enormous potential to become one of Asia’s leading destinations for international business events,” said Jochen Witt, partner and chairman at jwc, citing the state’s economy and infrastructure. “We look forward to contributing our international experience and supporting Maharashtra’s journey.”
As India’s financial capital, Maharashtra aims to use the collaboration to strengthen its international visibility, enhance its event bidding capabilities, and secure high-value global events.
“With jwc’s guidance, we are now better equipped than ever to translate that potential into tangible outcomes for our economy and our people,” said Sanjay Khandare (IAS), additional chief secretary (tourism) for the Government of Maharashtra.
