PCO Ex-Link to debut three trade expos in 2013, 2014

LOCAL PCO Ex-Link Management and Marketing Services Corp, is creating three international expos to address the Philippines’ lack of singnature events.

These expos are the International Beauty, Health and Wellness Expo from September 26 to 28 and the Euro Asia Travel Trade and Cultural Expo on December 10 and 11 at the SMX Convention Center in Manila; and the Global SME Expo in July next year.

While the Global SME Expo is still being planned, Mitch Ballesteros, CEO of Ex-Link Events, said all three shows would be “learning events” with conference components.

“It’s a high risk business but it can be done with the support of industry associations and the Department of Tourism,” said Mitch Ballesteros, CEO of Ex-Link Events.

First to be launched, the International Beauty, Health and Wellness Expo is expected to gather more than 200 exhibitors, with a quarter of them from other countries, as well as 10,000 buyers.

All three events will be rotated among other Asian countries, with the International Beauty, Health and Wellness Expo slated to take place in Jakarta next year.

However, Ballesteros said the Euro Asia Travel Trade and Cultural Expo would have to stay in the Philippines for at least two years.

She added: “European companies are very interested in the Philippines and Asia. We want to capture this interest and convert it into business partnerships so that Filipinos will have (business links) with European companies.”

The 12-year-old PCO produces mainly local events but has expanded over the years to exhibitions and corporate events management. It further diversified into destination management and travel agency business this year.
