The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC) has expanded its executive leadership team with the appointment of Avril Harris as director of event delivery, a newly-created role designed to streamline operations and elevate service standards.
In her new position, Harris will oversee and integrate GCCEC’s event management, venue operations, and technology divisions. The consolidation aims to foster innovation, strengthen cross-departmental collaboration, and support long-term growth for the venue.
Harris steps into the role with over two decades of high-level event management experience. She most recently served as executive director of events at Experience Gold Coast, where she spearheaded major event strategy, stakeholder engagement, and destination growth.
