Barrier-free access built into every hall

IMPACT Muang Thong Thani is highlighting its campus-wide accessibility features as it prepares to host the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) 21st World Congress from March 22 to 25, 2027.

The 310,000m2 venue features barrier-free design across all facilities to accommodate thousands of expected delegates, many of whom rely on wheelchairs, prosthetics, or other mobility aids.

Barrier-free access built into every hall

Every entrance across the IMPACT campus is equipped with automatic doors, handrails, and wheelchair ramps that lead directly into the venue’s main halls and exhibition spaces. Inside, high-capacity elevators connect every floor level, granting step-free navigation to key function spaces such as the Grand Diamond Ballroom and Sapphire function rooms within the dedicated IMPACT Forum. Public restrooms, passenger drop-off points, and designated parking areas across the entire complex are standardised for wheelchair access.

The venue’s mobility infrastructure extends beyond its main exhibition floors through direct connectivity to Bangkok’s Pink Line MRT mass transit system. This integration allows international attendees step-free travel between local transit hubs, adjacent hotels, and the congress venue. On-site, IMPACT also provides complimentary wheelchairs to delegates on a first-come, first-served basis.

“When ISPO chose IMPACT Forum for its 21st World Congress, they chose a venue where accessibility isn’t an add-on – it’s built into every entrance, every hallway, every hall,” said Loy Joon How, general manager of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co.. “Hosting a congress dedicated to mobility and independence inside a venue designed around those same principles is a meaningful alignment of purpose and place.”
