The 9th Penang International Travel Exchange (PITE) 2026 will take place from October 27 to 29 at the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre, connecting Malaysian tourism suppliers with approximately 100 international buyers from across Asia, Australia, and Europe.
Organised by the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau, the event aims to drive commercial partnerships across the country’s travel trade and business events sectors.
The three-day tradeshow splits its schedule evenly between indoor business negotiations and hands-on destination experiences. During the first 1.5 days, there will be pre-arranged B2B meetings between 50 local exhibitors – including hoteliers, DMCs, PCOs, and attraction operators – and delegates from key target markets such as China, India, Indonesia, Australia, and South Korea.
The remaining half of the programme takes international buyers and a delegation of 10 global media representatives out of the convention hall for familiarisation tours. These field trips are designed to showcase Penang’s UNESCO heritage sites, hospitality infrastructure, and culinary offerings to decision-makers who package travel for international client networks.
