Around 120 guests gathered at the newly-opened Riverside Macau on September 16 to celebrate the 18th anniversary of DOC DMC Macau & Hong Kong and smallWorld Experience.

Themed 18 Years of Experience. A New Chapter Begins, the event brought together hotel partners, local event and travel agencies, corporate clients, industry associations, suppliers, and long-standing business partners.

Reflecting on the milestone, founder and director Bruno Simões said: “It has been an incredible 18-year journey building my companies here. Macau is now the city where I have lived the longest, making this the most significant professional chapter of my life.

“What truly gives this milestone meaning is the people. We’ve worked with over 100 team members, serving as a stepping stone for many young professionals who have gone on to build global careers, pursue PhDs, and join top multinationals.

“One of our proudest achievements is the Sky Drumming experience at Macau Tower,” Simões added. “Since launching with Macau Tower and Skypark in 2011, we’ve brought drum circles 230 metres above the ground. We’re proud of our past, but even more excited about what lies ahead for Macau, the Greater Bay Area, and our team.”

The celebration also marked the official launch of Macau Event Company, which joins DOC DMC Macau and smallWorld Experience under Macau Event Pros, a newly consolidated brand umbrella.

Moving forward, Simões outlined plans to strengthen the group’s presence across the Greater Bay Area – particularly in Hong Kong and Shenzhen – while building on its Macau foundation. He also highlighted plans to deepen synergies across the three brands and adapt operations to leverage emerging opportunities in artificial intelligence.
